Know when to repair or replace:
To determine if a tire is truly damaged, it should be removed from the wheel for a complete internal inspection. When a tire is flat don’t drive on it very far or you can damage it inside and out. Typically age of tires can’t be an indicator as many of us drive longer distances in short time and payloads.
Punctures, nail holes and cuts up to 1/4 inches deep, as long as the damage is in the tread. Punctures larger than 1/4 inches, sidewall punctures or tires worn down to less than 1/16 of inch can’t be repaired and need replacing.
